The CERV is highly integrated in Brittany’s research landscape. Located on the Brest-Iroise technopole, the center is part of a cluster based on the Information and Communication Sciences and Technologies (ICST) axis called the Information Technology pole. Moreover, the CERV has obtained the CNRS label and participates in several projects funded by the French National Research Agency (ANR) as well as European projects (Chaloupe).

The CERV covers a broad spectrum of research themes, but focuses on 4 bottlenecks in particular: Intelligent Environments, Autonomous Behaviours, Complex Systems and Human Factor.
